A look back at Bucket Filling

This month is almost done and I hope that we were able to start the year with thankfulness and gratitude. And also, a pocket full of great strategies.

We are looking back to one of our previous posts for another idea of a year-round activity.

BUCKET FILLING!

- inspired by the book 'Have you filled a bucket today?' by Carol McCloud

Handle with Care's Building Block 2 teaches us that a healthy self-esteem means:

  • having the feeling of being capable to have some control,

  • feeling of being capable for growth and learning,

  • feeling valued, important and loved

This activity can help us understand how our small actions of kindness can strengthen the development of healthy self-esteem.

Here are two other books that can help boost children's self-esteem.

  1. What I like about me by Allia Zobel Nolan

  2. It's okay to be different by Todd Parr

Check out this video of Janine reading the book 'It's okay to be Different'. :)
